Thaksin and I

Amongst all the bad things that is causing a drift between my country and Thailand, I want to tell you a story to light things up a little.

During a golf game with Thaksin early this year in Siam Reap, we caught up and we had a fun time chatting. He is really a good friend of Cambodia and me. He is going to invest in Koh Kong building resorts and casinos. Good for our tourism and our economy. Thaksin is a helpful guy, I mean he is a billionaire. Money is not a problem for him so he want to invest to help us. He doesn't need more money! He gave a lot of gift to poor people in the villages in Thailand before the election. Maybe he should give me some (I'm kidding!) I mean, I have enough money. Millions of dollar donated to me every year, I even use some of the money to build roads, schools which they are named after me, and other stuffs like buying off opposition party MPs. Who said money can't talk?

Anyway, back to the story ... before we started to teed off. Thaksin asked me, "So what's your handicap, Sen?". "I lost an eye during the war" I replied. It was a great game.
